Gift Aid is a fantastic scheme, but you may not have the resources to track all your donations and submit regular detailed claims to HMRC.
Is your charity already registered for GiftAid? If not, you'll need to get recognition for your charity from HMRC - you can see what's required here on the HMRC website.
Once your organisation is recognised by HMRC, the next stage is to fill out a Charity Change of Details form nominating Giving Is Human Limited as an agent authorised to submit GiftAid claims on your behalf. You can read more and find the form here form ChV1 on the HMRC website.
When you fill out the form, you'll need the following details:
HMRC will confirm the nomination to us within a few days and provide us with your HMRC ID. We will start making claims on your behalf for donations made from that the date of that confirmation onwards.
We submit claims at the end of each week for all eligible donations made that week. You should receive the money into your bank account within 2 weeks of us making the claim.
You can see the date, amount and status of each claim in your charity profile on our platform.
We keep records of all GiftAid donations and you can download a spreadsheet at any time to satisfy your charity's record keeping obligations.
